Food and Detox

Some foods are allowed on a detox diet, and others you should avoid. Read on for a list of these foods.

Do’s

  • Fresh Fruits
  • Fresh Vegetables
  • Rice Products (brown rice, rice cakes, rice crackers, etc)
  • Whole Grains (buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth, millet)
  • Beans (kidney, garbanzo, mung, lentils, yellow peas and green peas)
  • Nuts and seeds (pumpkin, flaxseeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, cashews, almonds)
  • Oil (Olive is best)
  • Healthy Beverages (8 glasses of water each day, green tea, herbal tea, rice milk, unsweetened fruit and vegetable juices, warm water and lemon)
  • Condiments & Spices (sea salt, vinegar, herbs, spices, soy sauce, tamari)

Don’ts

  • Sugar
  • Dairy (milk, yogurt, cheese)
  • Wheat (bread, pasta)
  • Gluten (barley, rye)
  • Coffee
  • Alcohol 
  • Chocolate
  • Processed or fatty foods (chips, candy and other junk foods)
  • Meat
